Meet Baby Owen

This bundle of joy belongs to my cousin Linzie and her husband Tyler.
He's almost two weeks old.
Linzie's father was the Uncle I lost almost two months ago.
It's a shame he'll never meet his grandson or see him grow up.
If he were here I know he'd be bragging about how beautiful he is.
I can just hear him talk about his eyes, his red-tinged hair and angelic face.
I'm happy for Linzie and Tyler and sad at the same time.
 It's bittersweet.
I imagine it always will be.
I guess that's life. Right?
 It happens?
For baby Owen that's literally the case.
His life is happening.
Welcome to the world baby.

Hang in there Linz, I know Uncle's watching over your family.

Don't you think so? I'll let you decide. Love you Nitaleah.
If you're not convinced yet look at the 2nd and 3rd pictures.

What did I tell ya? Lol!

What next?

Almost two weeks ago our refrigerator broke down.
It just went kaput on us. Without warning. Just died and went to refrigerator heaven (or wherever it is they haul it away to).
Anyways, the hubz and I went into The Home Depot and got us a new fridge.
Three days after the new fridge arrived (this past Saturday) our dryer dried it's last load and had to be replaced too (oh but it gets better).
Guess what?
The "service engine soon" indicator light in our minivan came on.
Ugh!!!! What the effers?
Somebody stop the insanity!

It's FYBF and blogging w/out make-up.

Join my friend Brenda over at Mummytime to link up with other bloggers. It's a cool way to make blog friends and find other cool blogs to read. You can either click on the link above or on the "Flog Your Blog Friday" button over on the right of my page guys. Whatever tickles your fancy.

I also discovered that today is blog w/out make-up day. I don't normally wear make-up anyway but did decide to take a pic just for the occasion. I think as women we tend to point out our own flaws before anyone even sees them. I do that a lot too. I went around and viewed a lot of  "without make-up" pics of some blogs I follow. A few of them pointed out what they considered to be their "flaws" (if you will) but I thought they were all beautiful and flawless. That just goes to show how sometimes we can be a little too critical of ourselves. Like I said I am totally a doer of that. But not today. I'm just going to say: this is me. Up close and personal. Take me as I am or don't take me at all. Either way I'll survive. I'll still be me and I'll still go on living. I loved this exercise. It made me feel free. Liberated. Beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration Jodie you are the awesomest.

Happy Campers

Happiness is taking pictures after eating at the Mother’s Day Brunch extravaganza at Grand America Hotel.
Everything was delicious.
My brother and his family were some happy campers after we all ate so I took the opportunity to snap some pix of them.
Sona's shirt got hungry too. I think he still looks fine Jen :)
Love you guys.

Mother's Day

I often go walking in meadows of clovers
and I gather armfuls of blossoms of you...
Oh mother I give you my love with each flower
which gives forth sweet fragrance
a whole lifetime through
for if I love flowers, and meadows, and walking,
I learned how to love them dear mother from you!

Mama,

C.J Graduates

Cherelle Josephine (or C.J as we call her) graduates from high school next month. I had a great time during her shoot and found out about her plans after graduation.
She plans on attending college in the fall and majoring in psychology (a girl after my own heart).
You can do anything you set your mind to C.J!
I wish you all the best in the future.
Love you!
