Random Happys

My friend Brenda over at MummyTime has a teeny addiction with her iphone (she said so herself). I don't blame her really. I have an itouch and I love it to death. I wish it was the iphone but unfortunately the carrier I'm stuck with doesn't have the iphone. Bummer. I know. I'm totally J of all the people who have iphones 'cause there's really nothing out there like it.
Ok, back to the task at hand. Brenda decided to use her iphone addiction for good by capturing moments/images of things that make her happy. She called them her "random happys." I decided to participate because let's face it, "random happys" make the world a better place no?
So here you have them. Using my camera from my LG lotus phone (booo) and my Canon dslr here are a few of my "random happys" I shot over the weekend.

Getting my nails done by my sister. She's awesome right?

Getting kisses and hugs from my little munchkin.

Being able to capture moments of laughter.

Springtime.

Senior Portraits: Klarissa - Class of 2010

This natural beauty is Klarissa, my niece.
She graduates from High School this Wednesday and I couldn't be more proud of her.
I've know Klarissa since she was an infant.
She has grown into such a beautiful young woman.
I know she can do anything she sets her mind to.
Yes you can Riss.
The world is at your feet.
Go for it.
Love you!

More of Quinn and Kaya...

I could just feel the energy Quinn and Kaya had while editing these pics. My son walked by my desk and asked me why I was smiling.
I was smiling? Lol. I guess it was because these guys were a lot of fun to watch (that plus a lot of great shots = a happy Mena). So I just had to share more. Enjoy!

Quinn and Kaya

Sometimes kids can be a little shy of strangers, especially if the stranger is directing them or telling them what to do. Because of that, I wasn't so sure how to approach this shoot.
As soon as I met Quinn and Kaya, it was easy to just let them do their thing.
It was also very helpful that Mom and Grandma were there to provide a feeling of comfort and ease.
The shoot pretty much belonged to these fraternal twins - I hardly had to suggest any poses.
All I did was follow them around with a camera.
They were fun, energetic and best of all they were themselves.
It was great meeting you boys.
Thanks for trusting me with their pictures Noelle.
It was a total breeze. I'm still lol at Kaya for saying his cheeks hurt from smiling after the shoot.

I'm a grandma again...well...er sort of.

Our rabbit Kristy gave birth to 6 bunnies and we're ecstatic that they are all breathing!
She has had 3 litters before this one and not one bunny survived.
My son Leti, was quite the vet today. He gathered towels and grass clippings to help her prepare a warm nest for them today. Little did he know they were arriving today.
He was so excited to see them when he went out there to check on Kristy and got quite a surprise!
I guess that makes me a grandma again? Right? Lol.
Anyways, we're praying they live 'cause my little guy will be so bummed if they don't survive.
Here's to hoping they make it.
Live little guys (and/or girls)!
Live!

Leti, congratulating Kristy. He said she needs to know she did a good job.

The little guys (and/or girls)

Mama Kristy. Ya did good girl. Get some rest sweetie.

And this is Sampson. Proud Papa. We took him out of the hutch earlier and put him in this one.  I know you might not be able to help yourself  Sampson, but can you give it a rest so Kristy can relax a little? Just a question.
