Faye and Siuta - Engaged

"Young love,
strong love,
true love,
it's a new love.
They're gonna make it through the hard times
and walk those lines.
These ties will bind
young love."

The light was beautiful today and I had such a great time with these two.
Congratulations guys!

Domain Issues = Annoyance.

I'm not sure what happened to the domain I renewed earlier this year with google (www.tmenaphotographyblog.com) but it keeps going to godaddy.com. I'm pretty sure I've been a victim of some kind of hack attack.

However, all is not lost I am going to be blogging from my old blog address (writtenreflectionsandphotos.blogspot.com) until I can rectify the situation.

Last night I went to my son's first basketball game. He is 11 years-old and in fifth grade. He towers over his whole team. They played against seventh graders. They were all as tall as my son and they were more experienced. My son's team didn't win but he did better than he thought he would.

We ended the evening at my daughter's school. They had a multicultural night full of displays representing different countries. There were Native American dancers there with beautiful costumes.

All in all (aside from my domain issues), it was a pretty good day.

My son (#30) and his team lol.

Don't Blink or You'll Miss It.

One of my pictures got selected in my school's "Folio O(H)M - Spring 2011 Web Exclusive Showcase."

Don't blink or you'll miss it. You'll see it towards the end at around 3:18 and lasts for 4 seconds. Getting published is a pretty big deal for any photographer. I don't know that I'll ever get published in print but the web is just as good right?

(insert cricket sounds here)

I can take a hint. Tehehehe.

Grad Card

Here is a sample of a gradcard template I got.
I worked on it this morning.
I have a few more to post.
Stay tuned :)

(the graduation info is just a sample)
p.s templates make life so much easier :D

Sunday Selections

Linking up with Kim over at
Frogpondsrock for her weekly Sunday Selection photo meme.
If you have pictures you've taken that haven't been seen and are just sitting on your desktop this is a great way to share them with everyone.
I love this archway.
And I believe these blossoms are sweet crabapple.
Happy Easter everyone.

Miss Garley - Senior Portraits

Garley is the type of person who would make any parent proud to have her as a daughter.
She graduates this year and plans to attend the University of Utah. She wants to become a registered nurse. I love meeting awesome people like Garley. She's intelligent and knows what she wants in life and I admire her for that.  I know she's going to be an awesome nurse.

Peter - Senior Portraits

Whenever Peter is around there's always a chance that he'll make you laugh.
He plays football and basketball.
We had plans to have his shoot at his high school but it was pouring out.
So we settled for indoors.
He had me laughing so hard it was hard to keep the camera steady.
Thanks for the laughs Peter.
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation.

Shanece - Senior Portraits

Had a fabulous time shooting this beautiful young lady. Shanece plans to become a dental hygienist after high school. I really think she'd also make a great model. Just saying.
You're gorgeous Shanece.
Good luck with all your future endeavors.

The Fuimaono Family

I had an awesome time capturing the Fuimaono family.
Their two older kids are leaving home.
Their oldest daughter, currently in the Navy, came home this week to say goodbye to her brother. He will be serving an LDS mission in Samoa.
Today they laughed, and played, and joked around with each other.
They all get along so well and are really close.
It was so wonderful to see them interact with one another.

Tomorrow their son will leave, and then their daughter.
I'm feeling sad just thinking about the sorrow they're going to go through.
I am praying and hoping for your safe return Setu and Faye.
I love you guys!

Sunday Selection

Joining the lovely Kim over at
Frogpondsrock for yet another Sunday Selection. It's all about sharing photos that would otherwise just be sitting in a folder on your desktop.
I love her idea and have vowed to participate every week for as long as she has it.

These photos were taken at the International Peace Gardens
I've shot quite a few sessions there and there are tons of places that I still haven't used yet.
It's definitely a place I'm going to keep using until I've covered every inch.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Okay no chicken dinner lol but below you will see the winners as picked by a random number generator. I entered the amount of people who entered (5) and as you can see by the results the winners are: for The Castle of Chaos tickets:

Kicking off Spring Break with two Giveaways

My kids are on spring break. So I'm kicking it off and celebrating the launch of my new website with a give away. Two giveaways to be exact.
As a parent I know it can be difficult to find things to do with your families especially during spring break when the kids are annoying you complaining about being bored all day.
Well here's your chance to try and win some tickets to some cool spots here in Salt Lake City, Utah.

You will be entered to win:

1) Four vip admission passes to The Living Planet Aquarium (expires December 31, 2011)

                                  or

2) Four Spring Scream passes to The Castle of Chaos.
(they are currently open for a limited time during spring break on April 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30)

For Utah residents only (I know I know but I still haven't found a give away awesome enough to go global with tehehehe so please don't send me any hate mail). You guys still love me right?

Just leave me a comment below and you will be entered into the giveaway. Winners will be picked within 24 hours.

I couldn't post without some kind of image so here's my new logo I've been working on. I wanted it to have some kinda Polynesian element in it so I thought the hibiscus worked.

What do you think?
p.s my linking worked whaddya know? Happy Friday!

winners will be picked by using  random.org

Sunday Selections

I'm participating in a photo meme conducted by the lovely Kim over at Frogpondsrock target= "blank">frogpondsrock  (this was supposed to be a html link but unfortunately I have foxfire and it's not displaying correctly but it does work).
Like her I have tons of photos I take that end up in folders on my desktop that never see the light of day.
I took this one today along with a few others that I plan on sharing weekly.
This would have otherwise collected virtual dust and gone to waste but thanks to Kim it's not.

Ready for the Sun.

We got some snow over the weekend and I hope this will be the last of it (at least until the holidays).
I'm ready for warmer days and even warmer nights.
Who's with me?
